Forest Hills Public Schools: Here’s What You Really Deliver Inside Those Walls

Our beloved school district serves over 9,300 students and is widely supported. While the academic rankings and data speak for themselves on district performance, we paused to ask local parents about some of the unspoken ways Forest Hills Public Schools makes a difference in their lives.

Community members raised a hand this week to answer the question:

“To me, Forest Hills Public Schools is…”

A place that offers my children not only a stellar education but the opportunity to develop into well-rounded people by providing a variety of extracurricular activities and electives. – Elana Hostetter

A place where my children can thrive through education because of amazing teachers and staff. – Katey Morse

The foundation that has given way to exceptional education, countless opportunities, and lifelong relationships for me and now my children. – Kristin Oxton

Home. – Sharon Spungen

The village with whom we’re raising our kids - the network of friends, parents, teachers, staff, and kids with whom we are walking this journey, sharing the joys and pains, and working to make our next generation the most amazing yet. FHPS is community. – Kathryn Martin

An embracing small community. My kids learn core academics, but also empathy for others and context about our history and our great big global village. – Cortney Spielberg

Home. An extension of me, my children, my family as a whole. It is absolutely and positively tied to who we all are as individuals. – Holly Provost

Enjoy these heartfelt words and memories as we all reflect on the important role Forest Hills Public Schools serves as a unifying community center and source of pride. We’re standing up for you, FHPS!
